Understand the Pedagogy of Online Education at Seattle University
State and federal regulations require the university to certify online courses to meet course review standards. Online courses at Seattle University are unique in that CDLI has rooted those standards in Ignatian Pedagogy – the foundational approach to education at Seattle University. Even if you have not designed or developed the course you are teaching, it’s important to understand these underlying design principles and standards. These pages will help you understand out how course review works as well as the standards courses must meet in our CDLI Online Course Checklist (.docx).
Modifications to Online Courses
Since Seattle University online courses are designed to meet state, federal and program-specific requirements, any substantial changes must be reviewed and re-certified to ensure the course continues to meet those standards. Contact CDLI to work with an instructional designer if you need to make substantial changes.
Getting Started Teaching Online with Canvas Basics

If you can’t find a scheduled session that works for you, reach out to CDLI for a one-on-one session.
