CCE's partnership with Seattle Housing Authority (SHA) is long and well established, primarily through place-based connections in the Yesler Terrace neighborhood. Examples of CCE in partnership with SHA include:

  • Lead partner in the Yesler Terrace Legacy Commitment, a 15-year partnership in support of Yesler Terrace residents.
  • Chosen as the Lead Education Partner on SHA’s $30 million Choice Neighborhood Grant (2012-2019)
  • Participated in the Yesler Citizens Review Board for the redevelopment (2006-2018)
  • Renewed partnership on SHA’s Best Starts for Kids Grant (2022-2025) that placed Seattle University students with youth development organizations.
  • Financial supporter of the Yesler Youth Media Program (2011-present)
  • CEL partnerships with Yesler based organizations and supporting Yesler community events (e.g. Yes Fest)

The Youth Initiative has a long and deep partnership with educators and administrators of Seattle Public Schools.

CCE's Redhawk Academic Mentoring Program (RAMP) has sites at Bailey Gatzert Elementary School and Washington Middle School. The Change Makers program operates primarily with students at Garfield High School.

Aligned with the Center for Community Engagement's mission, Denise Louie Early Learning Center serves more than 1100 children and their caregivers a year through early learning and family support services. In partnership, Seattle University students are employed through donor gifts to these early learning sites,

Seattle University's College of Education has been a longtime partner. Through the College of Ed, our staff contribute to initiatives such as the Public Education in Beloved Community Initiative (PEBCI).
