Ninth Annual Immigration Summit

At the Ninth Annual Immigration Summit, we engaged with the work of local organizations and networks to develop and strengthen our advocacy strategies. We were pleased to welcome Bishop Mark Seitz of El Paso, Texas, and the Gospel Truth Choir joined us as well. 

Hosted by Seattle University's Institute for Catholic Thought and Culture and co-sponsored with the Archdiocese of Seattle, St. James Immigrant Assistance, and St. Vincent de Paul of Seattle-King County

The summit included:

Morning session:

  • Welcome and opening prayer, keynote and Q&A with Bishop Seitz
  • Putting legal issues into local context – Prof. Zaida Rivera, SU Law School
  • Local organizations share stories of advocacy and hope

Afternoon session:

  • Lunch and learn with organizations
  • Gospel Truth Choir
  • Advocacy, next steps and closing ritual
  • Mass at the Chapel of St. Ignatius
