SU Ranks High for Best Value

Seattle University is back on top as the #1-ranked university in Washington for “Best Value” among national universities, according to the just-released 2027 undergraduate U.S. News and World Report “Best Colleges” rankings.

Best value is based on formulas that consider outcomes and progress of work universities put in to ensure they are institutions providing great value to a diverse population. Value is determined by academic quality to price, the percentage of its undergraduates receiving need-based aid as well as scholarships and grants (such as the Pell or Washington College Grant) and its average discount.

“We are proud to again be recognized as the top university in Washington for ‘Best Value’ among national universities,” says Seattle University President Dr. Maura Mast. “This recognition reflects Seattle University’s commitment to providing students with an exceptional education while working to make that education accessible and affordable to students from a wide range of backgrounds.

Seattle University was also the #2-ranked private college in the state among national universities.

Programs within the Albers School of Business and Economics also received high rankings, with Business Analytics ranking #16 nationally and Marketing #24. Both were the top-ranked programs in the state. Additionally, Accounting ranked #33 nationally and Finance was #42.

“Recognition across these programs is a credit to the faculty who make an Albers education both rigorous and deeply connected to practice, as well as to an aligned community of staff, alumni and business professionals committed to fueling student learning and growth,” says Albers Dean Dan Turner. “Our goal is to help students become principled, values-driven leaders who create value for their organizations and communities. The rankings are welcome recognition of that work and the real measure of success that Albers alumni make for their teams, organizations and communities after graduation.” 

Two other Seattle University programs were also in the Top 100 nationally—Engineering (No Doctorate) at #38 and Nursing at #94.
