Frequently Taught Classes

UCOR 1200: Quantitative Reasoning, MATH 1335: Calculus II, MATH 2340: Differential Equations, MATH 4431: Introduction to Real Analysis I

Research Interests

Dr. Bahuaud's interests lie in differential geometry. Broadly this is the use of calculus (especially differential equations) in studying the shape of surfaces and their higher-dimensional cousins. Recently he has been interested in geometric flows that evolve shape at a rate determined by curvature.

Biography

Dr. Bahuaud received his B.Sc. (Honours) in Pure Mathematics from the University of Calgary in 1999, and his Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Washington in 2007.

Before joining the math department at Seattle U, he spent time as a postdoctoral researcher and teacher at Universite de Montpellier II, the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute, St. Mary's College of California and Stanford University.

Dr. Bahuaud has been on faculty at Seattle University since 2012. Along with colleague Dr. Oliveras, he organizes the Eigenseminar, a weekly undergraduate research seminar where we explore eigenvalue problems in differential equations.
