Dr. Se-Yeun Lee, Assistant Teaching Professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering/Environmental Science Program was recently awarded funds from Seattle City Light to examine the effects of vegetation change on streamflow in the Tolt River Watershed on streamflow dynamics.

Dr. Se-Yeun and an undergraduate student researcher will analyze long-term streamflow, evapotranspiration, vegetation growth indexes and other relevant factors. The study aims to identify the impacts of forest regrowth on streamflow dynamics, which could be used to forecast future effects of continued tree growth on streamflow and evaluate how wildfire events, among other disturbances, could impact stream dynamics.
