About this Program
Discover Your Path to Nursing Practice
The Advanced Practice Nursing Immersion (APNI) is an alternative path within the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program that welcomes a diverse range of students who have decided to seek out nursing as their second career or degree. This direct-entry option provides an intense, practice-based curriculum to fully prepare you to offer care to individuals and families in a wide range of health situations. At Seattle University, we help you build the foundation you need for a vital and rewarding health care career.
Pre-Licensure for APNI to DNP Students
Your full-time program of study takes four years. The first five academic quarters focus on pre-licensure coursework to prepare you for the NCLEX-RN exam. The remaining three years of full-time doctoral study prepare you for advanced practice nursing.
After completing pre-licensure coursework and passing the RN exam, you will begin advanced practice coursework in your chosen area. Students select from five advanced practice areas: adult-gerontology acute care, primary care, psychiatric mental health, midwifery or women's health.
Lock In Current Grad PLUS Benefits Before They’re Gone
