The Discerning Leadership Certificate

In June 2025, the Center for Ecumenical and Interreligious Engagement at Seattle University launched a certificate in Discerning Leadership (CDLC). This is an immersive, intensive residential program experience designed for individuals who are actively providing leadership within their unique context–whether in ministry, religious nonprofit, civic, or other public spheres.

Cohort Model

Rooted in the Ignatian tradition of discernment, the certificate is guided by experienced faculty and leadership coaches within a 6:1 participant to coach cohort model. Participants  journey through a dynamic curriculum centered on three core themes:
