Biography
Bret Torbeck is grateful to be part of Cornish College of the Arts at Seattle University. He has been a faculty member, and the stage management mentor, since 2018. He loves his job because it gives him a way to pass on the joy and the skills that he learns while working as a professional Equity and AGMA stage manager, which he has done for more than thirty years.
He keeps busy working professionally, most recently at Seattle Rep on The Play That Goes Wrong. In Seattle, he also works at Seattle Opera and ACT Theatre and is on the board of Seattle Public Theater. He has toured nationally and worked in regional theatres all over, including being the Resident Stage Manager at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta. In addition, he enjoys helping corporate clients and foundations to deliver their messages in live venues across the country, working for companies such as Boeing, Microsoft, and the Gates Foundation.
He is always happy to talk about Seattle and Cornish College of the Arts at Seattle University, so please reach out!
