Biography

Casey Klinich, M.Ed- Severe/Profound Disabilities, University of Washington. Casey became a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT)- Exceptional Needs Specialist (5-21) in 2011. In addition to teaching, he has been a NBCT Facilitator, an Adjunct Professor for SU, an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Tutor, Co-Founded a non-profit 503(c) organization (CanDo Initiative), district trainer for behavioral practice/safety, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) committee, and Mentor/Cooperating Teacher for multiple teaching candidates.

He continues to focus on educational equity by using positive behavioral supports for families with differing abilities through parent relationships, community outreach (non-profit/volunteer), and serving on multiple committees to give students a voice.

Casey has taught in Northshore SD’s public education system since 2006 and was a NSD classified employee for 6 years prior to that. His first 18 yrs. of teaching and classified time were K-3rd grade Severe/Profound (Low Incidence) special education. Since then he has taught Social/Emotional (EBD) and is currently at NSD’s Adult Transition Pathways program (ATP- 18-21 yrs. old) focusing on Severe/Profound (Low Incidence) special education adults to gain access to jobs, life skills, and community access.
