David Wetzel, MSG
Senior Military Science Instructor
Master Sergeant David Wetzel serves as a Senior Military Science Instructor for Seattle University's Army ROTC program.
Biography
Master Sergeant Wetzel assumed duties as the Senior Military Science Instructor on 10 February 2023. Master Sergeant Wetzel is a native of Media, PA. He entered the United States Army in March 2004. Master Sergeant Wetzel completed One Station Unit Training at Fort Knox, KY, where he graduated as a 19K M1 Abrams Armor Crewman.
MSG Wetzel has held numerous leadership positions to include Tank Gunner, Tank Commander, Section Leader, Recruiter, Company Master Gunner, Platoon Sergeant, Observer/Coach and Trainer, Task Force Operations Sergeant Major Trainer, Project Development NCO, and Troop First Sergeant. He has served in the 1st Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, 3rd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, 1st Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, 1st Recruiting Brigade, Operations Group National Training Center, and Maneuver Center of Excellence/United States Army Infantry School Capabilities Development Integration Directorate. His deployments include three tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom, One Rotation to South Korea, and one deployment to Europe in Support of our NATO Partners.
MSG Wetzel's military education includes Noncommissioned Officer Education System BLC, ALC, and SLC, Army Recruiter Course, O/CT Academy, Combat Capabilities Developer course, Master Educator Course, University Senior Leader Course, and various other professional development courses. He is a graduate of Class 005-15 Mobile Gun System Master Gunner Course.
Master Sergeant Wetzel’s awards and decorations include the Combat Action Badge, Army Recruiter Silver Badge, and the Master Gunner Badge. He has also been awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Driver Master Badge Track, Driver Master Badge Wheeled, and various deployment and campaign ribbons.
