Providing Equity in Access to a Jesuit-Inspired Education

More than 91% of Seattle University undergraduate students and 68% of graduate students receive financial aid to help make their education possible. Donor-supported scholarships play a vital role in these aid packages, enabling Seattle University to attract talented, service-minded students who are committed to making a positive impact in their professions and communities.

Scholarships expand access to a Seattle University education for first-generation students and students from diverse backgrounds, helping to reduce financial barriers and lessen the debt burden graduates may face. Through the generosity of donors, students are empowered to pursue their academic and professional goals while embracing the university's mission of leadership, service and social justice.

Establish an Endowed Scholarship

A gift to establish a named scholarship endowment provides essential support to students each year. Your gift is invested in perpetuity to support the philanthropic objectives you designate. You can establish an endowment with a gift of cash, securities, bequest, or other means. A minimum gift of $100,000 is required to create a named endowed scholarship.

Support the Annual Scholarship Fund

Give a one-time or recurring gift to the Annual Scholarship Fund to provide access to high quality education at Seattle University. This fund provides support where needed to students across all disciplines. For more information about the Annual Scholarship Fund, please contact the Office of Annual Giving at annualgiving@seattleu.edu.

Establish a Named Annual Current-Use Scholarship

You may establish a named, unrestricted scholarship with an annual commitment of $2,500 or more for five years or more.

Named, restricted scholarships may be established with a minimum commitment of $25,000 or more (payable over a period of up to five years).

Thanks to the Michael Chon Endowed Scholarship, I’ve been able to focus on my studies as a double major in Economics and Public Affairs. I chose Seattle University because of its small class sizes and Jesuit values that emphasize educating the whole person. SU's location in the heart of Seattle also provides incredible opportunities to engage with public policy and social issues firsthand. Without the support of scholarships, attending SU would not have been possible.

Indigenous People's Institute Scholarship

The Indigenous Peoples Institute (IPI) supports Native student success at Seattle University and raises awareness about issues of importance to local and global Indigenous peoples. Providing scholarships is an important facet of the support IPI offers students.

Fostering Scholars

Fostering Scholars is a full scholarship and program of support awarded to eligible students currently in, or who aged-out of, the foster care system. Recipients receive financial, academic, and personal support towards the completion of an undergraduate degree at Seattle University.
