University Ministry

University Ministry at Seattle University seeks to foster spiritual exploration and integration, cultivate inclusive communal prayer and liturgical life, promote faith that accompanies and encounters, and deepen the understanding and practice of Ignatian spirituality within the university community.

OUR COMMITMENT TO THE SEATTLE UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY

University Ministry accompanies our Seattle U community in the search for meaning, purpose, and belonging - in exploring the spiritual and religious dimensions of life.

We welcome all student, staff, and faculty - of every race and culture, every gender expression and orientation, every age and ability, every background, perspective, and tradition. Those with faith, with questions, or with none at all, we welcome you as part of our community.

Inspired by Ignatian values, we cultivate spaces and moments of encounter and care. We stand with and for those who face marginalization, minoritization, and oppression - joining in the work of justice, reconciliation, and healing. We seek to build  a community of dialogue, compassion, and care, where differences become sources of strength and all may flourish in becoming the person they were created to be.

Mass & Sacraments

Our liturgical life at Seattle University offers students, faculty, and staff an opportunity to attend Mass as well as receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick, and Marriage. We welcome you sharing your gifts as a liturgical musician, member of the choir, or serving as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, Acolyte, or Greeter.

We also offer the opportunity to experience the OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation for Adults) for those in our community who would like to receive Baptism and Confirmation in the Catholic Church.
