Educational Priority Statement
Rooted in the Jesuit Catholic tradition of holistic education and care for the whole person, our residential experience prioritizes the cultivation of meaningful connections, the fostering of personal growth and development, and the empowerment of diverse and inclusive communities. We believe that a student’s on-campus living experience, the Redhawk Residential Experience, is a vital and integral part of the university’s educational mission where students are invited to engage authentically with others, reflect deeply on their identities and values, and take active responsibility for shaping a just and compassionate world. Through intentional community building, reflective practice, and intercultural dialogue, we guide students to become ethical leaders who are deeply connected to self, others, and the greater global community.

How Do We Do This?
Self-Guided Programming: Occasions for residents to learn through bulletin boards, flyers, posters, and interactive content in their residential communities. Small measures of hospitality in communities like finals programming, door decorations, and other small personalized measures of appreciation for residents.
Community Connections: Opportunities for residents to engage in small social gatherings with peers to build friendships, learn new things, and have fun in meaningful ways.
Hawk Talks: Individual conversations between Resident Assistants and residents in their community.
Take-To Programming: Possibilities for residents to attend events on campus with their RAs and peers organized by campus partners and offices across the university.
