Welcome Commuter Students

Within this page, you can learn about helpful on-campus and off-campus resources that are available for you. We are here to support you along your way to various destinations during your educational journey!

Commuter student resources and initiatives

  • Commuter & Transfer Link - The CTL is a community space dedicated to creating a sense of place, community and belonging for commuter students as well as transfer students. The CTL is located in Student Center 310. 
  • Commuter Resource Guide - This guide includes information about helpful apps, study spots, transportation, and more.
  • Commuter Lockers - Need some on-campus storage? Lockers are available to rent. To sign up for one, visit the Hub Desk located on the first floor of the Student Center.
  • Commuter Showers - Need a place to take a shower after your long commute or a mid-day work out? There is a locker room with showers available on campus specifically for commuter students located at the west end of the first floor of the Student Center. To get access to these showers, contact Public Safety, let them know you are a commuter student and that you'd like to add the shower access to your card. Once you are in the system, just swipe your card to get in.
    • There are additional showers available at the Redhawk Center, the recreation/athletics center, located at the corner of 14th and E. Cherry. Bring your SU ID Card for access.

  • Waze: Navigation & Live Traffic
    • Waze is a free GPS navigation software app. Get driving directions, a live traffic map & road alerts.
  • Google Maps
    • Use Google Maps on your computer, phone, or tablet to search, explore, and find your way around the world.
  • Mint: Personal Finance & Money
    • Mint is a free budget tracker and planner app that allows you to keep track and organize your finances in one place.
  • One Bus Away: Real-time Transit Information
    • One Bus Away is a free app that shows different bus lines and lets you know when the nearest bus is on its way. It provides Seattle transit riders real-time information regarding arrival times of busses and trains.

Central Customer Service Center 

  • Central Seattle's "little city hall" where you can go to find information about Seattle services and programs.
  • Located nearby campus on 464 12th Ave
  • Provides various services such as:
    • Applying for a passport
    • Paying for Seattle City Lights and utilities
    • Paying for parking tickets

ORCA LIFT - The ORCA LIFT program is a reduced-fare program administered by King County Public Health. Students must meet qualifications to acquire their SU Associated LIFT card from King County Public Health.

Non-ORCA LIFT - SU offers students the opportunity to purchase 50% subsidized ORCA products through the university at the beginning of each academic term.
