About this Degree
As an Environmental Studies major, you’ll learn to connect the ecological, social, and economic dimensions of sustainability to create lasting, positive change. Our holistic, interdisciplinary program combines the natural sciences, social sciences and humanities, helping you understand how people and the environment can thrive together.
You’ll study real-world environmental challenges and develop practical solutions that promote justice and sustainability across communities. With the flexibility to choose from four specializations—or design your own—you can tailor your studies to your interests and career goals while preparing to become a leader in environmental stewardship and sustainable innovation.
Admission Deadlines for Transfer Students
- Fall Quarter (priority): March 1
- Fall Quarter (final): August 1
- Winter Quarter (January start): November 1
- Spring Quarter (March start): February 15
Students choose from one of the following specializations: Ecological Systems, Environmental Education and Communication, Politics, Policy, and Justice, Urban Sustainability
Degrees offered: BA, BA with departmental honors
