Biography

Taylor is a Nationally Certified Counselor with a National Board Certification (NBCT) in school counseling. They have been a practicing school counselor since 2012. They have a Master’s in Education and a Bachelor’s in English from Seattle University, where they also captained the college softball team. They have served in a variety of different roles and settings in education, from Pre-K to graduate programs.

Taylor currently works in the Tacoma School District as an Intervention Counselor at a large comprehensive high school. They have presented extensively on how educators can better support LGBTQIA+ populations and grieving students. They have a passion for teaching, small groups and alternative education, having worked at a public alternative high school, where they earned the OSPI Career Guidance Award of Excellence in 2015-17 and the District Excellence in Education Award in 2015.
