First-Year Student Application Process
Learn about the student housing available from Seattle University, as well as the applicable housing availability dates.
Welcome to Seattle University. As a new student, it is likely that you will be living on campus during the first two years of your academic career. This page will help you navigate the application process and timeline for on-campus housing.
On-Campus Housing Requirements
You are required to live on campus and purchase the Residential Meal Plan (at minimum) for the full academic year if you fall into any of the following categories:
- First- or second-year Seattle University student and under the age of 21 by the time the academic year starts.
- Within two years of high school graduation date as of first day of fall quarter classes, and under the age of 21 by the time the academic year starts.
These requirements do not include summer quarter, when there is no residential living requirement.

Step 2
Start The Housing Application Process
- Activate your mySeattleU account.
- Submit your $500 enrollment confirmation deposit to Student Financial Services.
- Send immunization records to the Student Health Center.

Use the Housing Portal to Apply for Housing
- Go to the Housing Portal to apply.
- Transfer student housing applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Transfer students are encouraged to apply as early as possible once the housing application opens.
- For Incoming Fall Quarter students only: Participate in the optional roommate search through the housing portal.

Since your residence hall room will be home during the academic year, you will want to have all the comforts and supplies you need day-to-day. Listed below are items important to have when you arrive, as well as others not allowed. Remember that your residence hall room is probably not as big as your bedroom at home, and you can coordinate with your roommate to avoid bringing doubles of some items.
