Jennifer Tilghman-Havens is a teacher, writer, speaker, facilitator, and spiritual director who serves as the Executive Director of the Center for Jesuit Education at Seattle University. She earned a BA from the University of Notre Dame and an MA in Pastoral Ministry, a Masters in Social Work and an MBA from Boston College. Her current doctoral work in interdisciplinary Leadership Studies at Gonzaga University has inspired her to publish research on servant-leadership, diversity and equity, transformative pedagogy, women’s leadership, and environmental sustainability.  As the founding Director of the Women’s Center at Boston College in 2003, Jen developed programming and partnerships to support women’s holistic development.  Since that time, she has spent her career at the intersections of gender, race, meaning-making and leadership. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on Spirituality and Leadership, Ignatian Leadership, and Leadership for Racial Justice; and she facilitates several faculty development workshops to foster active, inclusive and reflective pedagogy.  She also serves on the Steering Committee for the National Science Foundation Advance-Institutional Transformation grant at Seattle University, and co-chairs the President’s Committee for Environmental Sustainability. She presents regularly to audiences large and small on topics of spirituality, transformative education and liberatory leadership.  She has a loving partner and two children who challenge and delight her daily.
