Colleagues in Jesuit Education

Colleagues in Jesuit Education is a program that gathers together Seattle University faculty, staff and Jesuit colleagues for conversation about our Jesuit and Catholic educational mission in the relaxing atmosphere of a shared meal and evening discussion on three evenings this academic year.  Co-sponsored by the Office of the President and the Jesuit Community, and coordinated by the Center for Jesuit Education.

Thursday, January 19th | Our Jesuit Mission Embodied through Art

  • Arturo Araujo, SJ, will introduce theUniversal Apostolic Preferences 2019-2029 (UAPs) and share images and insights from his experience accompanying students to install works of art at the Jesuit Curia in Rome this summer.
  • Catherine Punsalan-Manlimos will lead the opening reflection.

Wednesday, February 15 | Accompanying Young People in a Hope-Filled Future

  • Kerry Von Esch,PhD will speak about the role of SU’s educational mission to accompany students who then make a hopeful difference for others in the world.  
  • Cynthia Dillardwill lead the opening reflection.

Monday, March 6 |  Walking with People on the Margins

  • LaKesha Kimbroughwill share about the powerful work of walking with students and our neighbors in the Central and International Districts in living our commitment to community engagement.

Thursday, April 27 |  Caring for our Common Home

  • Christina Roberts, PhD and Pat Twohy, SJ, serve as prophets of Indigenous life-ways that embody our common call to protect and safeguard our sacred lands, waters and creatures.

Monday, May 15 |  Discerning the Path Forward

  • Catherine Punsalan-Manlimos, PhDwill guide us in an assessment and discernment about where we as an SU community might be called  as we envision a reignited path forward. 

All sessions will meet from 4-5:30 pm in the LeRoux Conference Center (STCN 160).

All SU faculty, staff and administrators are welcome!
