Marco Lowe, MPA
Biography
Marco began his career as part of Gary Locke’s successful 1996 gubernatorial campaign in Washington State. After catching the political bug, Marco worked for a number of elected officials, including Governor Locke, and on a several campaigns in the state. The culmination of these efforts was the opportunity to manage the successful campaign for Greg Nickels to be Seattle Mayor in 2001.Marco also ran Dave Ross’ congressional race in 2004 and has worked on numerous elections since.
Marco then worked in Seattle Mayor Nickel’s office until 2006 when he left to pursue a Masters in Public Administration at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. After graduation he worked for a commercial real estate development firm in Seattle on a high rise tower in downtown Seattle. In 2009 he moved to New York City to take a job as the Chief of Staff for the Department of Small Business Services. When Mayor McGinn took office in 2010, he asked Marco to return to Seattle to direct the Office of Intergovernmental Relations. After four years heading government relations for the city, Marco transitioned to the energy sector as VP for Enwave Seattle, a district energy company.
Marco has taught since spring of 2010, starting with a public policy course at Seattle Central College and then moving to Seattle University’s Institute of Public Service fall of the same year. He teaches both Campaigns and Elections and Government Relations.
