Meet the Campus Ministry Team

Luke was raised on the Olympic Peninsula and took the ferry across the Puget Sound daily to attend O'Dea High School on First Hill. After finishing his Undergraduate degree at Gonzaga in Spokane, he spent two years immersed in the rich culture of the island of Pohnpei in the Federated States of Micronesia as a Jesuit Volunteer. The gift, love and grace he experienced there were transformational and inspirational in his vocation to ministry and Jesuit education. Luke is a two-time alum of Gonzaga University and earned his MDiv from the Jesuit School of Theology of Santa Clara at Berkeley. Perhaps the greatest gift of his Jesuit education was meeting his wife and best friend Amy as an Undergrad and the three daughters they are graced to explore each day with. Luke is passionate about his catholic faith and its intersection with Justice, building more inclusive communities, and multiple ways the sacred breaks through in plural identities, beliefs, expressions and viewpoints. Luke has a deep love of the mountains, trail-running, collecting 90s backpacker hip-hop vinyl, novels, poetry, and spaces of genuine connection that allow us to ask our most profound and authentic questions.

Bill McNamara, Campus Minister for Liturgical Music at Seattle University, grew up in Queens, NY and completed a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Psychology at Georgetown University and a Master of Divinity degree at the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley. Bill has ministered at a retreat center in Cincinnati, OH, and at Catholic parishes in Enumclaw, WA, Oakland, CA, and Bellevue, WA before starting at Seattle U in 2007. Bill and his spouse have two children, along with an enormous golden retriever, Moose. Bill enjoys traveling, hiking, bicycling, journaling, and anything to do with the preparation and sharing of good food. He plays piano and has sung with both the SU Choirs and the Seattle Men’s Chorus. Bill has loved Catholic liturgy and liturgical music for as long as he can remember, and enjoys sharing that enthusiasm with the SU community.

Megan Kush was born and raised in Southern California. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Spanish at the University of San Diego and a Master of Divinity degree at Boston College School of Theology and Ministry. As an undergraduate, Megan was immersed in settings that engaged the intersections of faith and justice, ultimately leading her to the Jesuit Volunteer Corps and onto a path of accompanying others on their own faith journey. Her passion for ministry grew through her work with youth and young adults in diverse parish settings, as well as in her role as a hospital chaplain. Megan finds renewal and rest through a variety of activities, including walks by the waterside, hiking, attempting new recipes, eating good food, journaling, and salsa dancing. Megan is thrilled to work with young adults once again, seeking to listen and accompany students during the significant, as well as daily moments, of their lives.

Vincent was born and raised in Vietnam. He and his family migrated to the United States on September 29, 1992. Before becoming a Jesuit of the US West province in 2003, he lived in San Diego, California. He was very active in his home parish as a leader of the Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Movement. During his Jesuits formation, especially his theological studies at Regis College in Toronto-Canada, he got an excellent opportunity to journey with young adults in parish and university settings by listening deeply to their sharing and hanging out with them. After his ordination in 2014, Vincent was assigned to the Most Holy Trinity parish, a very diverse and multicultural parish, in San Jose, California as a parochial vicar. During his five years as a parish priest, he enjoyed the church sacramental life, including organizing many liturgical inculturation celebrations. Vincent is very excited to work in a diverse campus ministry team and especially to continue walking with students during the unusual time, the pandemic.

Originally from Southern California, Stevi Hamill earned their Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy at Point Loma Nazarene University. They spent a year in Seattle working for Seattle Public Schools before returning to California to earn a Master of Arts in Philosophy at Loyola Marymount University. Looking to return to the forests and mountains of the Pacific Northwest, she moved back to Seattle where she completed her Master of Divinity at Seattle University’s School of Theology and Ministry. Stevi is grateful for the ecumenical education and religious experiences she has gained throughout her life, having been a part of evangelical, mainline, and Catholic communities in different capacities. She is ordained in the United Church of Christ. They love keeping their eyes peeled for the striking similarities and beautiful differences between various expressions of spirituality and religion as they seek after the transcendent. Stevi lives with their spouse and two cats, Appa and Ginny. She enjoys running, hiking, sharing meals, knitting, and hearing people talk about the things they love! 

Alex was born and raised in a Seattle neighborhood that he loves, Skyway. He earned his undergraduate degree from Washington Stated University, where he majored in Economics. He is in the last year of his Master of Divinity program and is a licensed minister at New Beginnings Christian Fellowship in the American Baptist denomination. He has been involved in youth and young adult ministry, Music and Worship Art, and is passionate about participating in ushering in the Kingdom of God here on earth, as it is in heaven. He enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 children, watching college football and NBA basketball, and reading.

Fred Seymour (they/any) is a queer nonbinary musician, artist, and Seattle University alumnus (class of 2018). In their role as Campus Minister for Liturgical Music, you can find them playing songs in the Chapel of St. Ignatius, sending emails in their office in the Student Center, and singing to themself all across campus. In their spare time, Fred volunteers for the Lifelong AIDS Alliance, plays tabletop roleplaying games with their friends, and writes corny pop songs. If you see them around, they invite you to say hello and introduce yourself!

Eloho enjoys painting and creating content! Her favorite spot in Seattle is Daiso located in the International District! Her favorite snacks are chocolate chip cookies!

Al enjoys adventures with friends, playing with their lovable dog, and sharing meals. Their favorite spots around Seattle include any coffee shop, bodies of water, and their living room. Al's favorite snacks are TJ's dried mangos, pickles, and ice cream!

Liesl enjoys yoga, hiking, snowboarding, and singing! Her favorite spots in Seattle include Seward Park, Gasworks Park, and Pike Place Market. Her favorite snacks are pretzels, grapes, and peanut M&Ms!

Tanya enjoys going to Mariners games, watching documentaries and trying new restaurants! Around the Seattle area her favorite spots are Pike Place Market, T-Mobile Park, Lumen Field, and The Great Wheel. Her favorite snacks are White cheddar popcorn, Hot Cheetos Puffs and Ice cream sandwiches!

Angelo enjoys Liturgical Music & Singing, Photography, LEGO, and his Couch & Switch Gaming. His favorite Seattle spots include The Chapel of St. Ignatius, Hood Famous Cafe + Bar, and The Arboretum. Angelo's favorite snacks are Extra-Toasty Cheez-Its and Peanut M&Ms!

Raymond enjoys Adventures with friends, Interesting classes and Leading retreats! His favorite Seattle spots are Myrtle Edwards Park, Out-of-the-Closet thrift store, and Frankie & Jo's Ice Cream. Raymond's favorite snacks are blueberries, dried mango, and gluten free sweets!
